Following the 2014 introduction of the second-generation Transit Connect, this versatile little van moves unto 2015 unchanged.
Transit Connect is available in XL, XLT and Titanium trims; the first two can be had in short- and long-wheelbase body styles, while Titanium is long-wheelbase only. All are front-wheel drive, and all share a six-speed automatic transmission, but there are two engines available: base power comes from a 2.5L four-cylinder making 169 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque, and the option is a 1.6L "EcoBoost" turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 178 hp and 184 lb-ft.
XL trim comes with air conditioning, rear-seat climate controls, 12-volt power outlets in centre console and cargo area, front map lights, front-row centre console, overhead storage shelf, cargo cover, keyless entry, vinyl flooring, tilt-and-telescopic steering column, AM/FM stereo, 60/40 split-folding second-row seat, folding/sliding third row seat, flat-folding front passenger seat, six-way manual driver's seat, black door handles, capless fuel filler, wide-angle side spotter mirrors, liftgate with wiper/washer, variable speed front wipers, dual sliding side doors with power windows, power front windows, and 16-inch steel wheels with covers.
XLT models add carpeted floors, sun visors with vanity lights and ticket strap, electric rear window defroster, driver's message centre, MyKey, overhead sunglass holder and child observation mirror, carpeted floor mats, backup camera, second-row fold-down armrest, 4.2-inch multifunction display, SYNC, CD player, body-coloured door handles and bumpers, fog lights, power-adjustable and heated side mirrors, and rear privacy glass.
Finally, Titanium trim gets dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather-trimmed steering wheel, upgraded stereo, heated front seats, leather upholstery, power driver's seat with manual lumbar, cornering fog lights, power-folding side mirrors, rain-sensing front wipers, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
